Advantages: none

Disadvantages: poor quality and high prices

When we first moved to our house carpet right fitted all of my carpets for me.

My living room is 22foot long by 12 foot wide, i had a short pile carpet with fleece backing from carpet right for £920 without fitting or grippers.

My bedroom carpet was the same carpet just in a different colour which cost me £460 without fitting or grippers.

I had rubber backed bathroom carpet which cost £280

My smallest bedroom which is 10 foot square cost me £600 because i wanted a nice thick pile as this was our nursery at the time,

total = £2260 plus all extras like fitting, carpet grippers and underlay.

I didnt realy know a lot about carpets at the time and thought this was reasonable but after about 6 months my livingrom carpet had gone flat and started to bobble, i wasnt impressed but put it down to having a lot of wear, the bedroom carpet which was exactly the same carpet when the same a short time later, the bathroom carpet used to hold too much water and started to smell moldy after a few months and the long pile carpet i brought for the small bedroom faded in the sunlight after just 12 months.

All my carpets unfortunatley had to be replaced after a fire, i used a local small carpet firm called virgo, they did my whole house in better quality carpet, underlay, grippers and fitted for £1900.

Carpet right are expensive and there carpets are not that good quality.

Summary: Smaller firms offer better value for money as they would like to keep your custom

We're a small independant carpet retailer and we offer a price promise and can beat anyone on price (especially Carpetright as they're not that cheap, just gimmicky "SALE" prices).

I dont beleive for a minute that you paid £280 for a bathroom carpet.

obviously a carpet in the bathroom will get wet if not protected by towels or mats at bath time.

If you were to stand in sunlight for 12 months im sure it would have some adverse effect on you too

as for expensive carpets check out their price promise you wont find that in allied carpets or virgo. you only get what you pay for and i dont think you paid as much as you say.

thats just common sense and not the fault of the retailor.
