In Feb'09 I carpeted my 2 bed flat with CarpetRight (New Malden Branch) and am overall impressed with them.

On my first visit to the store I was assisted in choosing carpet by a member of their team. I have to say that, despite working in a carpet shop, they were not particularly helpful in terms of the basics of carpets. I rather randomly selected a carpet from their massive range and arranged for my flat to be measured.

The measuring appointment was made to my convenience and was attended promptly.

Prior to confirming my order I carried out my own carpet research to be sure what I was buying was correct. I spoke to staff at a John Lewis store who were excellent in the basics such as fiber types and weights. I then changed my carpet order. This change was carried out without any problems.

Following my research, I did not purchase underlay from CarpetRight (as they overcharge for it like most carpet shops) but instead bought it online for less than half the price, the same for the carpet grippers and door bars. CarpetRight did not mind that I was not buying these items from them.

The carpet, once ordered, arrived in store in about a week. A fitting appointment was made to my convenience and was attended on time. The fitters were excellent, but I acknowledge that there is an element of 'luck of the draw' on this issue.

End result; excellent carpet at an excellent price with good customer service throughout. Once you know what your doing, in carpet terms, I would highly recommend them. If you are unsure about carpets etc get clued up first then take advantage of their great prices.
