Advantages: Cheap

Disadvantages: Unhelpful, disorganised staff, Lack of communication, General inefficiency

Over 6 weeks have passed since we ordered and paid for our carpets and still no sign of them. On 25 January, we were told to allow 10 - 14 working days for the carpets to be delivered. They did not appear and at no stage did Carpet Right contact us to tell us what was happening. Until yesterday, that is, when, after much chasing on my part, the carpets were due to be fitted. Then I received a call from Carpet Right telling me that they had got the measurements wrong and would have to re-order the carpet. They promised to call me back today to say when the new carpet would arrive, but of course they did no such thing. I have just spoken to someone at Carpet Right who tells me that it will take a minimum of 7 working days for the re-ordered carpets to appear, but he could not guarantee that they would arrive in this time. In the meantime, my family and I are expected to live with bare, splintery boards (the old carpets had been cleared away in expectation of the fitters' arrival yesterday) complete with lethally spiked gripper rods, which I suppose we'll just have to remove and pay for new ones.

I have been seriously inconvenienced by Carpet Right and will certainly never use this company again.

I suggest that you write a letter of complaint to Lord Harris, the guy who started the company.....

I have bought carpets over the past 4 years from Allied Carpets, General George (I know .. the same company), Behar and John Lewis. No problems with any of them. The carpet from General G was faulty - replaced without quibble.

Honest mistakes are frustrating but OK. But why can people not call when they say they will- it doesn't solve it but does make you feel a little bit valued.
