Premium Review Cash Converters - Modern take on the Pawn Shop (299 words)

Cash Converters is a modern take on an old fashioned idea - the Pawn Shop. Everyone needs a little extra cash when times are tight. Cash Converters serves several purposes. It can be a source of cash in exchange for something of value which you own. You can leave something of value with them, and borrow money on it. This is much the same as the old Pawn Brokers. You can get an advance on your next set of wages. This may be the only way some people can get a very small unsecured loan. You can go into Cash Converters and buy the pre-owned goods at prices that reflect their condition. You can find anything from jewellery, small electrical goods like ...  Read the complete review

I didnt know of this place for years until a friend of mine took me their to buy a guitar amp. It was a Marshall 50watt valve amp and was at a very good price! It opened up my eyes to the bargain he was getting and maybe I was missing out! Coincedently, the shop then moved more into the centre of town and was easier to get to, so I make quite regular visits. Being an audio and music freak, it was always the microphones, guitars, amplifiers, mixers etc I was checking out. Every so often I would just have a general browse too however. I thought how it must have been a one off that my mate got a bargain, because the prices didnt seem that great at ...  Read the complete review

A little saying of mine: ALL IS FAIR IN LOVE,WAR AND RETAIL. I've been a regular customer of a couple of Cash Converters stores in Wolverhampton and Dudley, West Midlands and hopefully this review will provide some information and counter some of the slanderous and unfair statements made about them. Cash Converters started in 1984 as a small pawn shop in Perth, Australia and has now grown into the World's largest chain of second hand dealers with a presence in most main cities in the Western world. The UK has about 90 stores and is expanding all the time. They deal in Second Hand stock mostly although they sometimes offer New ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Cash Converters: A confrontational, bad atmosphere surrounds this shop (269 words)

Cash Convertors is a second hand store that buys and sells from normal people like you and me. As a buyer, you can find some real bargains here, and it's a good bit of fun hunting through the items available. Our store seems to specialize in DVDs, TVs and computer games, with a few instruments scattered about for good measure. Prices are similar to what you pay in the local paper, and stock is continually changing from week to week, so it's important to visit regularly if you're looking for something in particular. As a seller, I was insulted to be offered just £40 for a £500 item, so I wouldn't recommend taking your stuff here to sell it (later ...  Read the complete review
