Hi, I have recently been in my local Cash Converters in Bowthorpe near Norwich. Although I have had bad experiences with Cash Converters before, this shop is different. The staff are helpful and easy to talk to and with a range of aged staff from 17 to over 30 they have a wide knowledge of all the products. The manger is helpful and ... Read the complete review

I bought a DVD player for my autistic daughter to have in the car to keep her occupiued in a nerby Cash Converters . It came with a 3 month warranty but packed up after a month. Taking it back I was given a "credit note" , though quite who it credits I don't really know! and was told that I would be contacted when another came in stock. ... Read the complete review

Cash Converters is a modern take on an old fashioned idea - the Pawn Shop. Everyone needs a little extra cash when times are tight. Cash Converters serves several purposes. It can be a source of cash in exchange for something of value which you own. You can leave something of value with them, and borrow money on it. This is much the same as the ... I didnt know of this place for years until a friend of mine took me their to buy a guitar amp. It was a Marshall 50watt valve amp and was at a very good price! It opened up my eyes to the bargain he was getting and maybe I was missing out! Coincedently, the shop then moved more into the centre of town and was easier to get to, so I make ... A little saying of mine: ALL IS FAIR IN LOVE,WAR AND RETAIL. I've been a regular customer of a couple of Cash Converters stores in Wolverhampton and Dudley, West Midlands and hopefully this review will provide some information and counter some of the slanderous and unfair statements made about them. Cash Converters ... Read the complete review

Cash Convertors is a second hand store that buys and sells from normal people like you and me. As a buyer, you can find some real bargains here, and it's a good bit of fun hunting through the items available. Our store seems to specialize in DVDs, TVs and computer games, with a few instruments scattered about for good measure. Prices ... Read the complete review

I bought a really cool projector with built in DVD player about 8 months ago and now want to sell it because I don't use it half as much as I thought I would. I cost me nearly £500 new. I have the original box, receipt, all the plastic ties and bags so it could be packed up like brand new.
Decided to ask 'Cash Con' for a valuation and they offered me £80!!! What a total joke, they are obviously taking advantage of those desperate for cash. I've watched a few other 2nd hand ones on eBay selling for over £350. I really think they are a disgrace.
There may be bargains for buyers, but definatley not for sellers.
Cheers,
CP

I tend to agree with comments regarding pricing at cash convertors and in the end if you think its too expensive you can walk away, however, sometimes you get a bargain like the one I got from the now closed Warrington store - late in the day just before closing on a 10% off day saw a pair of binoculars at £15.00 going into case - bought for £13.50 having noticed that they were in fact Zeiss - sold on ebay for £95.00 - in conclusion keep looking like auctions and car boots sometimes you fall lucky but the only unfortunate one was the poor sod who sold them to cash convertors.

Not too long ago, just after Christmas, we decided our humongous CRT (i.e. very big) monitor and old keyboard and mouse just had to go. We had a new set for the Christmas season, and so concluded that our old set just wouldn't be of any use to us. So we considered the options of selling / getting rid of the stuff. After a bit of ... The first time this happened you could just say it was unlucky, for both parties. Now someone else I know has had their stolen CD player turn up in here too - and no-one (the law included) seemed suprised. And in neither instance could they trace who the stuff had been bought from? This may happen in other second-hand shops too but not ... Read the complete review

Having purchased a DVD playere from Cash Converters Aberdeen. I found it did not play UK Region DVD's . I returned the following day and was informed that my money could not be refunded because the player was not faulty as it did play othere region DVD's. There attitude was unhelpful and at times aggressive. This shop is a disgrace! I urge people ... Read the complete review

In my local town, Norwich, There is a street that has been almost completely taken over by a shop. A shop that is somehow legal and seemingly unregulated. This shop is called, Cash Convertors. This Shop buys goods, very often stolen goods,at a fraction of their true value, and then sells these goods at high prices. Welcome to the world of the ... Read the complete review

Shopping at Cash Converters in not exactly a pleasure, the staff are not very helpful and the store is cluttered. I had bought goods from them before, a new computer monitor, a new bread maker, a second hand camera lens and most recently a laptop computer. I paid £430 for the Compaq computer + £45 12 month warranty. The computer was ... Read the complete review

Cash Converters is a chain of stores which buy and sell used products at low prices. CHARGE TOO MUCH FOR THERE GOODS - Advantages: GOOD PRODUCTS - Disadvantages: CHARGE TOO MUCH, WHEN SELLING , THEY GIVE NOTHING FOR IT., WHEN SELLING A ITEM TO CASH CONVERTERS,THEY SHOULD GIVE YOU A FAIR PRICE, BUT THEY DON'T, THEY GIVE YOU 60%, LESS ,THEY WHAT YOU ORGINALLY PAID FOR IT NEW, I THINK IS REALLY WRONG, THE LAWS SHOULD CHANGE, TO PROTECT THE COMSUMER.

The idea is good…bring all your stuff in that you no longer want. We will buy it from you hence earning you some money. We will then sell it on to people who want it who, in theory, can get it cheaper than it would be new. Sounds good doesn’t it. Doesn’t quite work like that though. To start with, when you ... Everyone loves a bargain and its all too easy to be lured into thinking you are getting one by places like this. Second hand goods ought to mean cheap goods, especially at the pittnace they pay you if you ever try to sell anything to them, but invariably it doesn't. My local Cash Coverters is the Basildon Branch. The thing that struck me the first time I entered the shop was how untidy and dirty its was. There were products lying all over the place.
