Let me make two things perfectly clear. 1. I hate shopping! Huh, I hear you cry, a woman who hates shopping? Is there such a person? Yes, and that person is me. I hardly ever buy new clothes and if I do, only out of necessity ? everything I own is old, tatty and falling to pieces. I NEVER find what I am looking for and hate the whole experience. For my brother?s wedding I threatened to turn up in old faded jeans as I couldn?t for the life of me find an outfit. I did find one in the end but the experience only made me hate shopping even more. 2. I went to ... Read the complete review

If you are in New York City, for any reason, and you want to go shopping then Century 21 is THE place to go. It's got designer wear very very cheap. Especially handbags. You do however need to have you shopping-head on as this place can get pretty mental! Century 21 is known as New York's Best Kept Secret, except it's not really a secret as you will see from the hordes of shoppers in there every day. If you go on a weekend it will be even busier, with all the local New Yorkers in there on their weekends off spending their pay cheques. The best place to visit this store is in the week and EARLY! I spent a good $400 or more in one trip in this place (mainly on handbags) - ... Read the complete review

Century 21 - the place I bought 2 pairs of DKNY trainers for $9.99 each...(about £6) Not all the bargains are as spectacular as that, but this is *the* place in Manhattan for big label gear at low low prices. There are lots of different departments on several different floors, but without a doubt, the best bargains are to be had in clothing and shoes. DKNY, Diesel, Polo (Ralph Lauren) Nike, Adidas and Reebok are just a few names which come to mind, and there are usually a good number of well-informed bargain-hunting Brits scouting around to see what can be snapped up! The shoe department which stocks trainers (there is another shoe dept ... Read the complete review

Guys: Don't pay £50+ for DKNY/Ralph Lauren/Claiborne etc shirts. Get yourself to Century 21 and they will only cost you £10-20. I've not bought a work shirt here (UK) for 5 years! Also good for socks, underwear and trainers. And when you are done there is a nice Starbucks next to the entrance! After Starbucks, go across to the World Trade Centre. Tower 2 and you can get half price theatre tickets from another branch of the famous TKTS that's in Time Square. ... Read the complete review

Century 21 is a great store to get brand names at bargain prices. Unfortunately, the staff there are the only ones in the whole of NY who don't want you to "have a nice day". They seem to want you to have a horrible day instead, as they seem to be having one and want you to have one too. Also, for some reason, all the staff are orange. I don't know whether it is the lighting in there, or whether they all get fake tan cheap, but it's scary! ... Read the complete review
