help others AND yourself! (Charity Shops in general)
Member Name: blackrose_
Advantages: very cheap, helps other people, unusual clothes Disadvantages: have to have time to browse, not so good for street cred until you start college!
I have been a devoted fan of charity shops ever since I started college and it became trendy to go trawling searching for bargains, as oppose to the cardinal sin, punishable by total ostracisation, that it was in secondary school! And I am so glad that I am a fan...if I could have a pound for every time someone has asked me where an unusual item of clothing has come from (usually a charity shop), or every time my sister has bought something in a high street chain shop for 100 times the price I paid for it in a charity shop, well, I would be a very wealthy woman (who shopped in charity shops!) In how many other shops these days could you buy a complete outfit, including a coat, for less than 20 quid? And whilst you get the best bargains, and walk around town looking like the individual you are, as oppose to a chain store clone, other people with less luck are being helped out by your cash! Lets face it, shopping in charuty shops is as much about helping yourself as others, and having fun doing it! I mean everyone loves hunting for a bargain, don't they?! Summary: |
