Charity Shops in general:
... few years ago I would have never gone into a charity shop, i was under the impression that they items they sold where dirty, just someone s cast offs alot like the school or church jumble sales of old. I am now a reformed character, and am now in and out of charity shops all the time. My new journey started when I walked past my local Scope shop and there in the window was the perfect little handbag (and we all k... Charity Shops in general ... Shops ~ In General ~ My Review: I was also a charity shop snob until a couple of years ago. My mum has always enjoyed shopping in them, however when i went with her i was always standing outside. I guess i felt slightly awkward in case anyone seen me shopping in there that i knew. I did think of it as slightly embarrasing. My mum used to come outside with tons of bargains, she d get a whole outfit for around a tenner, including shoes. She always washed the clothes before wearing and i must say, they did look quite nice once washed and ironed. I m 24 now and i m a lot more open minded than i used to be. I m no longer a snob and i m always in and out of second ha... Read the full review: Charity Shops by ladysnowpatrol |

There are specialist shops for books, music and even doll houses, and they are light and airy, nicely branded and are generally much more in line with the rest of the high street. Unfortunately the prices have also increased massively. I used to volunteer in an Oxfam Books and Music store and the average price for a paperback is £2.49 - only a bit cheaper than Amazon in most cases! We alway... General Charity Shops ... status of these stores has increased a great deal over the years. The idea is that individuals donante their unwanted items to theses charitable organisations. In turn they filter through the stck and decide what is useful and worthwhile selling, pricing it up accordingly. The item are then sold in the relevant section of the store. Majority of charity shops are only small and of late they have become a lot more selective about what they are perpared to take in, for fear of people feeling like they can use the place as a rubbish tip. The items sold, despite being used are normally always good quality and it has become a lot more fashionable to shop at theses types o...
