Advantages: Fun filled party suitable for all childeren
Disadvantages: I wanted a Teddy bear my self
My daughter had a create-a-bear-party for her 6th birthday, the party was held in our home, she invited 9 friends.I got the idea from a friend who had already had one of these parties. the first thing I did was to check out the compnay website www.create-a-bear-party.co.uk the website gives lots of information of the different parties offered. I opted for a Cuddly Bear Party as this was the most suited to my budget, I was able to fill out a booking form online which I did.
The next day I was contacted by the company to confirm all the details I had put on the booking form. the lady explained that she would put an information pack in the post to me that day. the information pack arrived the next morning, the pack contained a booklet about the party,a booking form, terms & conditions and party invitations. I had to return the booking form with a deposit of £40 which I did. a couple of days later I received an e mail to confirm that they had received the deposit and to confirm the party.
A couple of days prior to the party I was contacted by a member of staff to confirm numbers.
The party was booked for 1300hrs, Bernadette & Ann from create-a-bear-parties arrived at 12.30 to set up. The girls set up in the dining room and bought with them a cover for my table ( they had already asked me to supply chairs for each child). Each bear comes in a box & there are eight different bears, each bear has a 40cm skin which has a special zip at the back so that once the bear is stuffed and zipped up it can't be opened. The box also contains enough stuffing for the bear to make it feel soft and cuddly.
Once the girls were set up the childeren were then allowed into the dinning room, the girls then put name stickers on each guest so that they could call the childeren by their name throughout the party.
As it was my daughters party she was then allowed to go into the lounge to choose her bear ( she chose a tiger bear!) she then bought the bear back into the dining room, all the other childeren had to pick a numbered ball from a box and whatever number they had picked they then had to go into the lounge and find the bear with the same number.
Once everyone had their bear it was then time to stuff & fluff the bears, they started by filling the legs, then the arms followed by the body, as they were filling the body they were each given a red heart to place inside their bear as they did so they all had to make a wish which they all did.
After they had placed the heart it was then time to record a message on a voice box, the childeren all had to think for a couple of minutes about what message they wanted to record.
They were then allowed three go's at recoding their message, which they all managed to do. They then placed the voice box into the neck of the bear so that it would be easy for them to find the voice box to play their message. A little bit more stuffing was then added to the bears which were then zipped up so that they couldn't be re open, all of this took approximately 20 mins.
Once the bears had been made they then needed names, each child thought up their own names name which ranged from Ben to Tia Maria!! Once everyone had chosen a name they then filled out the bear's birth certificate.
It was then time for the kids to have some food, they all went and sat in a circle in the lounge to do this. while the kids were eating Bernadette & Ann were setting up the table for the next part of the party which was decoratng t Shirts for the bears, they supplied everything that was needed including fabric pens, glue, stars, moons, circles etc to decorate the T shirt with.
Once the kids had eaten they came back into the dining room where before starting to decorate the T shirts we Cut the birthday cake and all sang Happy Birthday to my daughter, then the Anne & Bernadette bought out little cup cakes with a candle in each so the kids could all sing happy birthday to their new teddy bear friend as of course it was the bear's birthday as well.
Each child was then able to decorate the teddy t shirt with their own designs, some of which were very good. Once they had finished their designs they were then able to put the t shir on their bear and they then placed their bear in its own special carry bag ready to take home.. The childeren then played a couple of party games to end the party.
Throughout the party I was able to just sit back and relax while my daughter and her friends had a fantastic party at the end of which they took home their new friend to keep forever. This party cost £19.95 for each child which I thought was excellent value for money as the bears are a very good quality.the childeren were entertained throughout the party . My daughter had a fantastic day and so did her friends. For more information on this party visit www.create-a-bear-party.co.uk. The parties last approx 1 1/2 hrs, and are held in birthday childs home or nominated venue. This was an excellent value for money party which I would highly recommend, the staff were very pleasant & professional my daughter and her friends are still talking about it.
Summary: Fun filled childerens party suitable for all ages, good value for money

- 12/01/06 HI it sounds really interesting, although as others have said below, more information is needed to make the review really helpful as I personally have found it difficult to understand what this is. Is it something which you can buy in a package for parites, or is it a service or your own personal idea? Add a little extra info and this will be a really useful review. x |

- 12/01/06 agree with below that more info is needed - I'm dying to know how you go about making these bears and what the costs are. My son is about to turn 4 in April - are there different themes or is this the only one. If you update this please let me know as I would be interested in reading more. Hope you enjoy yourself on dooyoo. Belinda |
