Advantages: nice items at a good price.

Disadvantages: ear piercing let down.

Claires accessories shops are allover the country in most shopping towns like Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Merry Hill. The stores can vary in size, there are two in Merry Hill that are really small and hard to walk around, you can't take a pushchair in there. In Telford, there's a really big one in Telford so all of the shops are a bit different.

Claires is a girls shop really. The sell fashionable items like
-rings. - make-up. - hairbands.
-Bags. - Nail varnish. - hair clips/slides.
-shoes. - hair brushes. - perfumes/ body sprays.
-necklaces - Bracelets. - badges.
-earrings. - body jewellery. - bath bombs
-phone charms - make-up bags. - phone stickers / socks.

and more..

They sell a huge variety of earrings, mostly just stainless steel although they do have some silver ones that you can buy. Some of the earrings are really nice, some completely unique designs like paper clip style earings and spiked earrings.

In claires, you can have your ears pierced although I think it is a little bit of a con. For quite a while, there was a huge banner on the Claires shops saying 'Free ear piercing.' When we went in, she said that the ear piercing was free but you had to buy the earrings. I thought fair enough and had a look at the ear piercing container to see the prices and was shocked! The cheapest pair were about £11. They were piercing ears with gold. Not only is this ridulously expensive, but they were using gold earrings to pierce your ears when you're not meant to put gold in a new piercing, something I was told by my body piercer. I've never had my ears pierced there so can't speak too negativley about it though.

It's a good shop for teens because it is fairly cheap. You can buy small folding mirrors for £3 and make-up for about £2 each. Some things I think are a little expensive like the ear piercing and some of the jewellery which is about £6, but not all of it. The cosmetic cases cost about £5 and eye shadows vary in price from £2.00 - 5.00. In all, you can probably buy a make-up bag and get a good collection of make-up for about £20.00 which is good.

Claires accessories is brilliant just after christmas. They have a fantastic sale and half the price of a lot of items. I bought an eye shadow set of rainbow colours that should ave been £4.50 for £1.00. I think that their sale is great to buy presents for others ready for the next year.

It is mostly aimed at teenagers really, but there's a lot of things in there that I would wear as someone who is almost 40. Their hair accessories are good quality and some of the jewellery is nice and fashionable. I can't say I would wear their glitter make-up or big earrings, but there are a lot of items that I would wear.

Overall, it is a brilliant shop for teenage girls and women to go in for their beauty products. If there is somethig you need from nail varnish to headbands, they'll have it. My daughter Loves Claires and drage me in for ages to have a good walk around, so if you have a teenage daughter, try to keep away because you won't be coming out in a hurry! ;)

Summary: A great shop, my daughter loves it.

My daughter had her ears pierced at Claires and they NEVER healed - not for several years. In the end, she took her earings out and let them heal up completely.
