Advantages: Lots of product ranges, affordable

Disadvantages: crammed shops, some tacky looking items

Claires is usually absolutely packed full of jewellery, hair accessories, make up, bags and stationary. It's mainly aimed at children and teens with some ranges of products endorsed with many popular characters (eg. High School Musical, Disney, Hello Kitty etc.). They also have ranges aimed at more alternative fashion types, which many shops do not have.
It's fairly affordable, more so than most other similar high street shops, with lots of offers (there is usually a 3 for 2 on earrings in my local shop).
They also do ear piercing at a good price and with a good quality of advice for caring for your piercings.
On the other hand, the shop is often cramped as the size of it is usually very small, with many stands crammed in on the floor, and ceiling height shelving. Some items can be slightly tacky and look cheaply made but they are fairly cheap anyway and mostly they are fine. Overall, Claires is a good, affordable shop for accessories and gifts.

Summary: good and afforrdable fashion accessories and gifts
