Clarks is traditionally where grannies and young children are fitted for their shoes. They sell school shoes, sandals and just general shoes that can sometimes look slightly unattractive to some people.

If you are a kid you must take your shoes off and wait for a helpful member of staff to come and assist you. You put your diddy little foot on the manual foot measurer, or you can go to that big machine thing that tells you precisely the size of your feet.
Then, assisted by a parent you can pick and try shoes on, that you walk around the shop with. And that's what Clarks is all about really! Where I used to go, it was always very busy just before kids went back to school.

Clarks is well known for its well fitting, quality shoes that are pretty expensive, but last a good long time. That's probably why so many parents go to Clarks for their kid's shoes.
