Clarks is one of the few high street shops that sells easily available footwear on the high street that come in with half sizes. I find this very important especially when I need to buy comfortable footwear that is also good quality made. I can't just go on the internet and buy walking shoes when I don't know how they are going to fit me, so I must try different sizes and models in a shop until I make my mind up which is not that difficult but it helps a lot.

When it comes to the availability of the Clarks stores I am always surprised about the fact that they are situate in even the smallest town's high street.

Over the years I have owned numerous good quality pairs of should from Clarks which have been very comfortable. Price wise a pair of sandals costs around £40, I do not find this to be much at all, in fact it pays off on the long run.

There are also some things I do not like about Clarks:

I do not like the fact that some of their footwear looks cheaply made. I mean sure, they sell some superb quality items but some look like overpriced rubbish, made of thick uncomfortable leather and at times also badly glued, and is not just a pair or two is the entire line of them I have noticed.

In some years they simply make ugly footwear, perhaps they are trying to hard to keep in with the trend. So when I see a pretty pair of shoes I got to grab them fast because they can go out of season and are never to be seen again. At times I need 4 months to have some spare money in order to spend them on a pair of shoes, you can't imagine how frustrating is when they are gone.

Then is the sale: some of the items sold in the spring are half price in the autumn. As far as I am concerned that really devalues a product in my eyes but on the positive side I can get those £50 pretty sandals for £25, I much prefer to wait every year.

Then there's the fact that not all of their footwear comes with half sizes sadly. They seem to have selected models less and less now days with the half sizes. This can also be frustrating because at times I just need that half of a size to get that right fit on my desired shoes.

Overall I could not do without Clarks, I don't live near a big decent city in order to have access to more quality brands,. If not Clarks then who?
