I used to really hate Clinton Cards because of their prices and i thought that especially because of the hard times we are in at the moment, it would get even worse. Clintons has recently launched a value range to rival such places as the Card Factory. Finally someone realised that they need to have products available for everyone.

Clintons was founded in 1968 by Don Lewin. By 1988 the company had grown to 77 stores and by 1994 it had 277. The shop originally only sold greetings cards but moved on to also sell soft toys and novelties. As well as having stand alone shops, Clintons products are also sold in some Thorntons franchise stores.

Clintons' biggest shop to date is is the White Rose Center, Leeds, covering 10,750 sq feet. I found this quite strange considering most companies base their largest stores in London. The shop is spaced over 2 floors with a coffee shop, toilet facilities and a seating area where customers can order wedding stationary. It sounds like a large book shop style store like Waterstones.

Clintons are famous for selling Me to You bears. Me to You bears come in many variations and imm sure one has been created for every occasion possible. My local Clintons dont sell these bears anymore but i had a quick look online and you can still find them there.

Clintons website has a much larger range than you can find in the shops. The ranges are extended to flowers, chocolates, personalised items and a much bigger wedding selection.

Although Clintons have not been my first choice for cards in the past, i think ill give it more of a try now. My local store is very well laid out so its always easy to find what you need. If you cant find something, the staff are always more than happy to help.

I wont be paying their outragous prices but i will be going in to have a look at their new value range. One thing i do love about Clintons though are their choice of gift wraps, boxes and bags. I havent been able to find anything as luxorious anywhere else.
