Pricey Co op! (Co-Op)

Disadvantages: Range stocked and price

I have 3 Co ops within a very short distance, 2 at the end of the road and 1 main one a little further out. Unfortunately this is the closest supermarket to me.

I say unfortunately because it's so expensive I would never be able to do a full shop in there, I understand the range isn't very big (I nipped in the large store yesterday get some stewed steak and there wasn't any) and is indeed a limited place but it really is dear.

In this part, I am referring to the larger stores, not the small 'convenience' newagent type ones.

Convenience=
Yes, it is more of a convenience store rather than one you would do a full shop in, it'd be useless for that. Great for nipping in to get something for tea, pint of milk etc but I try to avoid if if I need to get a few things as it often does not have what I need and is too expensive.

Store=
All well laid out and clean, nothing really to report here.

Products stocked=
I find the choice very poor, but then again it is a smaller supermarket than the other major brands. Fruit and veg section ok. Tinned selection not so good. Frozen and bakery are well stocked. The items I've had from there have all been enjoyed. The fresh deli counter looked ok but not used it.

Price=
Not happy with the prices charged at Co op and therefore try to avoid it as much as I can. I guess that this is more to do with it's so called convenience element. I popped in to get a frozen dessert for after tea and found barely anything, being on a budget everything was so expensive I ended up going for a sponge cake at 98p! It's like corner shop prices in a big supermarket.

Summary of small corner shop stores=
Well stocked of most things but don't even bother with fruit of veg selection is often poor and gappy. As said before, it's just the convenience of having them there and my locals accept card which is good for a local shop. They quite often have good reductions as well to pick up.

Summary overall=
Don't bother unless you have no choice. It's far too expensive to do a full shop in any of the big stores.
