Advantages: A good store that is always clean and tidy

Disadvantages: very expensive.

I live about 2 minutes away from the co-op. It's a short walking distance to the shop, but I'm not mad on it because I still end up driving for ten minutes to get to the local ASDA on a regular basis instead.

Unfortunately it is because it's so expensive, I would never be able to do a full shop in there, not only are the prices quite high, but they don't sell a brilliant variety of things. I often go in for things that they don't have. I think it is more of a basic shopping place because unlike ASDA, they don't have the same item in lots of different brands but it is good if you run out of something and need to nip round quickly.




I dread to think about how much it would cost you to do a big shop in there. They do have trollies but I genuinley have never seen one being used in the shop. People only usually buy a few things with a a basket at most. Things aren't ridiculously expensive, but everything is about 20 or 30p more at least than in ASDA and if you buy a few items, this definitely builds up.

The stores I have been in have all been clean and tidy and the staff in my local store are very nice people, always polite and happy to have a good natter with you.

My local used to have a fresh counter where they sold meat and a bit of fish but they don't do it anymore for some reason. None of the stores have a clothing range unlike bigger stores like ASDA or Tesco.

You can buy all basics in there like alcohol, butter, milk, bread, confectionary, drinks, magazines, cigerettes etc, but they do lack variety.

Overall, it's a well designed shop that is always clean and tidy with friendly staff, but their prices aren't good at all and a lot of items will cost you more in there than in ASDA or other leading supermarkets. I've seen people infront of me paying for their basket of shopping and it's come to like £18 and I was thinking " how?!" If I were you, I'd only go in there if you have to and I certainly wouldn't recommend taking a trolley in there, it'll cost you a fortune!
