Advantages: take back DVDs, electronics and games for cash or store credit
Disadvantages: If trading electronics, they need time to be tested.
Yesterday I went to CEX; I had four games that i no longer play. I didn't see the point of having them collect dust, so I sold them to the store for £29. Walking out with cash in hand, I was thinking about what to buy with my new £29.
Obviously I lost money in the long run, as the games cost a lot more than £29, but I got to play them, so I think of it as renting them for extended period! If i had traded my games in for store credit, i could of recieved more money, about 35-40 in store credit.
I could of then spent this store credit on games, including ps2, gamecube, ps3, DS, PC Xbox and more. I could of spent the credit on a wide variety of films, box sets and various DVDs. Music, electronics such as phones, laptops or RAM.
Once i gathered all my DVDs and games i didnt play. I took them back to the store and ended up getting a Wii for essentially £40, as the store credit payed for most of the Wii.
I am a big fan of this store, i buy most of my games and DVDs from the store, and take back games and DVDs ive watched/played to get new things.
I recommend this store, but if you have the time, and are taking a game back, you could go to other game stores and see if you will get more for them there. You can check how much you will get when trading a product at CEX.co.uk.
The products are all seconds hand in the store, and therefore cheap. I have once however, got a CD which was scratched and the game would not work, but i simply took it back and got a new one!
Summary: A great store that i use very often
