Advantages: Cheap, give you a good price on stuff

Disadvantages: Postage when selling

After having reviewed Music Magpie it's only fair of me to review CEX, CEX is a similar company to Music Magpie except as far as I am aware, Music Magpie does not have stand alone stores for you to be able to go and buy things from, CEX has numerous stores across the UK to purchased pre-owned items from.

I heard of CEX thanks to their being one in my city, Bristol, I have recently being trying to earn some money to be able to pay bills and have some money to do things once in a while, I was able to clock up £76 worth of sales with my old games and dvds, I was able to find a box and packed it full of the items I was going to send off.

The only problem with CEX is the postage, it cost us nearly £11 to send them off with £100 insurance on the package, although I'm sure this can be eradicated by taking a box full to your nearest CEX and doing the exchange at the store, which I could have done but didn't.

Less than a week later after checking the website it said they have checked and cleared all my items for sale, since then it has been completed and we are awaiting payment, although this is now about 5 days after payment was confirmed by CEX, so am unsure what is happening with that, I will be contacting them soon if payment doesn't go through.

The store itself is a very cheap and reliable shop, able to purchase a number of 2nd hand items very cheaply, items which are also very much in good condition, able to buy pre-owned 360 games for around about £6/8 is surely better than splashing out £25/30 or so for a new version just for the sake of it being new?

DVD's are very cheap, or can be, new ones such as The Dark Knight were on sale for £12 despite them being pre-owned, I have bought a few games from there and they've all played perfectly fine.

Overall it's a good way to earn easy money, surely most people have 30+ items that they don't use or play anymore and can make a little money from, I had a large collection of DVD's and the ones I have sold are not the ones I wanted to keep, which I did keep.

UPDATE - Having just checked my bank account they had indeed paid me the correct amount, so for this I will give them an extra 2 stars overall as a store AND as a selling place, great price, easy and good way of earning a little more income.

Summary: Great site to sell to and buy from
