Advantages: Good service with good prices for your pre-owned electronics

Disadvantages: Long & poor tests of consoles, charge much more for products than they give you if you were to sell

CEX offer a good service allowing you to buy pre-owned electronics or sell your existing products, great if you need to earn a little extra cash!
CEX have a website along with stores based throughout the UK offering a similar service throughout.
In stores you can browse the various items they have in stock from mobile phones to computer games and buy pre-owned items. The prices are quite good and many devices have different price levels depending on their condition which is great if you want a bargain and don't mind a few scratches. Selling your electronics is also a very simple process, just head up to the counter, get a CEX card and you can sell for cash or exchange of their products (you obviously get more value for exchange than cash). The majority of staff are very friendly and willing to help. The only issues I've had in store are when trying to sell a PSP, when selling consoles you have to return after approximately 1 hour so they can test it. Before heading to the store I made sure that the PSP was working however when I return (after the test) they told me that it froze while using one of their disks. Even though it worked after a reboot they said they wouldn't buy it. Seemed slightly strange and they refused to accept that it may be their damaged disk.
The online website is also a useful archive of all products and prices. Fairly easy to navigate with a quick search bar, the website allows you to find buy/sell prices of various products.
Overall CEX provide a good service which offer rates better than most other shops. I would highly recommend it if you have old gadgets and you're trying to earn some extra cash.
