Costco - not all it seems (Costco)
Member Name: MikefromDenham
Advantages: Good for a browsing weekend Disadvantages: Leave your wallet at home I first met Costco whilst working in the US in 1987. Like the Asda/Walmart transition, the cheap US prices have not arrived in the UK despite the hype. You can match virtually every prices in the mainstream stores and worse, a lot of the goods are either discontinued lines or their own brands [rather like Tesco!!]. The huge items can be delivered by a contractor for about £30 for 10 miles. Stocking up on maga boxes of chocolate bars ensures does not save as they eat the lot. For clothes, Primark cannot be beaten. The policy of cash or debit card gives them a 3% profit right away. However, getting refunds has never been a problem even for big items. Summary: Worth a look, though few bargains which you want |
