Costco is a membership only wholesaler. In order to obtain an account you need to be self employed, vat registered company owner etc. They offer 2 kinds of membership......Trade or Inividual. Individual membership is open to certain emplyees, ie finanacial directors etc....it does restrict access to the store at certain times, you are not ...

We shop at Costco for mainly big brand products which we would otherwise but at the supermarket-if you always buy the brand names and not supermarket own brands then Costco is much cheaper-for example Aerial washing powder tablets are particularly cheap compared to Tesco/Asda etc. However, if you but own brand products usually, you won't make ...

Ah... Costco. Coming from North of the border, I was used to Macro which was a bit of a mission to be honest. It is unfair to compare Costco and Macro as the service, size and choice, in Costco clearly knocks Macro to the ground! Some things you are better off buying in supermarkets, we were comparing washing ...

Costco is an American company and it now has 21 branches in the UK It has branches in various other locations including Korea and Japan. Unlike other retail shops, this is a cash and carry shop (more like a wholesale shop). Everything you buy is in large quantities. To shop in Costco you have to be a member first- they have 2 types of ...

I am not a fan of shops and find shopping malls more painful than wrenching out my tenails, yet something about Costco excites me. If you are unsure of what Costco is, well it is an American giant of a store which offers goods ranging from clothes to food to electronics at cheap prices and in gargantuan sizes. You wouldn't come here to ...

Despite not actually being a member of Costco, I have found myself going to the Reading store about once a fortnight recently as my best mate joined up just before Christmas when he opened his new Salad Bar. The fact that we even travel around 35 miles to go to our closest Costco (Despite having Cash & Carry stores in Swindon) is a ...

I have been a Costco member for some years, and while I agree their prices are sometimes higher than supermarket special offers, overall the prices are very good.
The best deals are on electrical equipment. I recently bought a 37" LCD TV for £528(includes 5 year guarantee), which was priced around £750 elsewhere(with 1 year guarantee).
We have returned faulty items in the past, and they have been refunded without question, even outside the guarantee period. I feel I can buy there knowing if there's any problem, it will be resolved quickly.
BTW, store policy is not to exchange goods, but to refund to customer, and for you to buy again. I think this is because very often, newer models have replaced that which you bought earlier.
-Great, cheap cafe too!

We visited Costco a couple of weeks ago, which was the third or fourth time I have been. You have to be a member to shop there, which I believe costs around £25 annually, although I am not 100% sure as it is my mother-in-law who has the membership and we went with her. I do know that it is certainly more than just a nominal fee (and Makro, which ...

BEST BUYING TIP -Member since Costco entered the UK in 1993. If you see anything, you like or may like, buy it (provided you have the money). They have a no quibble return policy (within 3 mths) and I guarantee (happened to me many, many times, if you return to get it, on another visit, it will be gone. They are a warehouse, not retail store, ...

I have been a Costco member for just over a year now and have easily saved enough to cover my membership fee several times over. I always pay close attention to the prices and have worked out which items are good value. My advice to anyone shopping at Costco would be to make sure you compare prices with the same or similar items from your usual ...

When my husband said he wanted to get a membership to CostCo I had to get him to tell me what that was exactly. See, I had heard of Macro (who hasn't?) but not of CostCo, so hubby explained that like Macro it catered for small businesses and individuals who wanted to buy bulk. CostCo first started in Seattle in 1983, and since then have ...

----<Joining>---- I've been a member of "Costco" for 10 years, my days in Motorola had afforded me the chance to get a card, see not everyone is entitled to one, you have to work in certain jobs; like motorola, be a civil servant and if you do have an RAC card, you can join. I never agreed with this strict policy, yet ...

Costco started in the states, has been doing business for a while now and its cache (I really don't know what to call it) has run out. So, it has expanded into foreign markets to try supplement its U.S. sales. What you can expect is items that aren't really cheaper, just bulkier. An understaffed wearhouse, which translates into terrible customer ...

Derby store.....well organised and efficient. Appears to be run "US-style", on the same lines as the US stores. Clean store, good foodstuffs. Stock quite well displayed and reasonable to good selection of most products. Prices of 'internet-available' items are sometimes very competitive, especially on the weekly ...

I was attacked by a blak man who indecently assaulted me by prodding his fingers into my breasts on August 13. Costco subsequently cancelled my membership accusing me of being a racists. I first met Costco whilst working in the US in 1987. Like the Asda/Walmart transition, the cheap US prices have not arrived in the UK despite the hype. You can match virtually every prices in the mainstream stores and worse, a lot of the goods are either discontinued lines or their own brands [rather like Tesco!!]. The huge items can be delivered ...

Costco is a Cash and Carry place that lets ordinary plebs in at certain times for a fee... If corner shop owners shop in here I don't know how they make any money as most of the stuffis cheaper in ASDA anyway.
