Advantages: None.
Disadvantages: Bad customer service., Faulty goods.
I recentley bought a new computer from currys which cost just over four hundred pound. I assumed that as currys is a major retailer there would be no problems however as soon as the computer arrived i set it all up plugged it in and it came straight on which it should not have done so i tried turning it off at the switch on the computer but it was not working then i had to put restore disc in as the computer did not work.
Finally i got it up and running but it kept turning itself on and off and crashing on me at first i thought it was because it was new but after a couple of days it was still doing it and it smelt like it was burning so i phoned currys who arranged for an engineer to come and repair the computer.
The engineer came out within the time specifed and installed a new power supply and plugged my switch in then left i hoped my computer was fine so i plugged it back in turned it on and it worked good as new or so i thought until that night it turned itself off while i was online the problem persissted and appered to be worse than before i phoned currys who took over twenty minatues to answer phone when they did the person was very unhelpful and i was told the parts would have to be ordered so a repair date could not be arranged and currys would ting when they can come out so here i am three days later with a computer which works when it wants .My advice to anyone thinking of buying from currys is dont.

- 19/11/05 Do you not think a faulty computer is the fault of the manufacturer? Aefra you bought your computer from PC world wel congratulations dumbass currys, dixons, the link, pc world are all the same company under the same management. |

- 07/11/04 I would not choose Curry's or Dixons to buy a computer. Surprisingly my computer was bought from PC World some few years ago and I have been delighted with it though it's getting a little tired at times. :-)

- 05/11/04 Does not surprise me; along with group-partners Dixons and PC World, they rely on massive High street presence to get sales. Most people I know has had a bad experience with these guys.
