Disadvantages: Second hand T.v instead of a new one

Although currys sell a wide range and the items looks great,I have had one bad experience with them concerning our 42inch LCD Toshiba Television.

After much debate on what T.V to get we decided on this one.But found they never had any in stock,so we opted to drive 35 miles to the next nearest currys where they did have some in stock.Once getting it home and excitedly getting ready to open it,found it had already been opened as the maskin tape which was used to seal it was old.Taking the television out,we found there was no batteries for the remote control,which was supposed to come with it.No instructions,and no proper packaging inside the box to keep the television compacked properly.Once putting the T.V on it's stand,it was lop sided and did not sit in place properly as now there was no screws in the package to secure the stand on the T.V either.

We then figured that we had paid out nearly £1000 on a second hand Television.So to our disgust,we phoned them telling them not only had we drove out 35 miles,but the packaging was unsatisfactory and parts missing.Needless to say,we got an apology and within 2 days a new one delivered to our door.
