Currys is an electrical retail store that sells household electrical items. This includes major appliances like refrigerators, washing machines, televisions and cookers. They sell a range of computing equipment including laptops and desktops, and a range of peripherals such as projectors and data storage options. Currys also stock a range of audio items including MP3 players, digital radios and Hi-fi systems. The stores also carry a range of Sat Navs, digital cameras and gaming consoles.

Currys have an option that allows you to find what you want on their website then pick it up in store. This is helpful for smaller products where you may not want to pay for the delivery. On larger orders delivery to your home can be free.

I also find the stores are reasonably well laid out. The store is usually organised by sections according to product type. It is not too cramped either. Products are fairly easy to find, though if you have difficulty finding something staff can be hard to find to help you locate what you're looking for.

Having lived in the England for close to two years, Currys was a store I was not familiar with. I have used them several times in the last two years and have found the following

Pros

- Good range of products: always have what I've needed in stock

- Competitive prices: sometimes their prices may seem a little higher than for example Tesco, but they usually seem to have a wide range of products which enables you to find what you want within your budget. You certainly buy top dollar products if you so wish.

- Stores placed in convenient locations: I've lived in three locations in London and have always found their is a Currys located nearby or close to transport. I live in Nth-East London so can only really talk about my area.

- Purchase of products is quick and easy: rarely need to line up for long, much better for a quick purchase than going to a supermarket

Cons

- Staff: this is obviously based on my experience, but I've always found the staff slow to assist and not particularly well informed. This may not be true for all stores.
