Advantages: Have a wide range of products

Disadvantages: Expensive prices

Currys is a nation store that sells both white goods and other electronically items such as computer and TVs. Currys is currently part of the DSG Group, that also owns PcWorld and now the online only company of Dixions. As all Dixions stores throughout the United Kingdom have been converted to Currys stores.

There is a large Currys store near me that sells the majority of the products that Currys sell. Although disappoint the store does not sell a large number of computers or laptops in store as there is only a small area dedicated to these items. But the reason for this is there is a large PcWorld right next door to the Currys store.

The largest number of products that are on display are TVs and white goods, as three quarters of the store is taken up by these products. The store has a wide range of these products that should appeal to everybody's tastes. Although be aware that you will either need transport to get the bigger products home or you will have to pay for the store to have them delivered to your house.

One of the complaints that I have with the store is the high price that the store sells its products for, as it is more than any of its rivals stores and quite a bit more than online stores. It actually makes you wonder how the stores manage to survive as the prices are so high that they put people that I am friends with from buying from the store.

In terms of the staff the majority of the store staff are helpful, as they will help you by giving information on any products.

In terms of returning items to the store, which I have only had to do on one occasion, which was a computer, the staff member was extremely helpful. As no questions were asked, even though the computer would not work and a replacement was given to me right away, which I thought was extremely good customer service.

Currys does operate an online website, but so far I have not used the website to purchase any products. But the website offers the standard services such as reserve and collect or the option to have the product delivered to your house.

I would not recommend anybody to purchase any products from Currys as the prices of the products are so high, when you can easily buy products online or from other stores that are cheaper. Although I would recommend going to the store and having a look at the products before you actually purchase the products, as you will know whether you like it or not.

Summary: Good to browse the products before you buy

VALID POINT, DIXONS OWN CURRYS AND PCWORLD, THEY ARE THE ONES INSTRUCTING STORES NOT TO PRICE MATCH THEM.

not one of my favourite stores, had a nightmare buying a lap top from them last year, once bitten twice shy as they say.

We had loads of problems with Currys. We ordered a TV on line and on the morning of the stated delivery they called to say it was out of stock. We cancelled the item but subsequently had three calls from people attempting to deliver it. To add insult to injury, they had also taken the payment and we had to wait for it to be repaid! Never again!
