Advantages: I found 1 nice employee in our local Currys

Disadvantages: They have rude customer services!!

Over a week ago I bought a new fridge freezer from Currys, I must admit we actually caught a day when the staff were not stood around in a huddle chatting. Delivery was arranged a week later on a Saturday, we did the phoning the night before as advised and had the early slot.
Then began our problems.
On the morning of delivery we got a call saying the item was damaged when delivered into the warehouse (and they tell us on the morning of delivery?), we were told we could have another delivered 2 days later (Monday). Well either myself or my husband would have to take time off work so we said we would call back, as all our food was sitting on the side going off, as we had emptied and defrosted our appliance as instructed. They gave us a number they said would go through to them directly, once we had arranged something. So we made the arrangements about getting time off work and called back. The number they had given us was an automated service that did not accept our order number. So I called customer service, they said they would email the delivery depot as you could not ring them and we would get a call back within 4 hours. Then the delivery lorry turned up so the driver could tell us there was nothing on his lorry for us (very nice touch!). So I called the customer services back, some how now they had a number for the delivery depot, the earliest slot they had was 5 days later, I explained we had been told Monday and she said no only Wednesday, so I asked what about all my food that was going off? Apparently it was not Currys problem (in other words tough). I asked why we had been lied to twice (once about the Monday and once about he delivery depot not having a phone), thats when there customer service assistant exceeded herself and told me in a rude and agressive manner that asking questions was not going to help me, it was not her problem and I should just accept the facts! I stayed calm and hung up, it is really not worth my blood pressure talking to someone like that.
So I decided to go into the store where I bought it, I explained everything and the customer service girl did try on the phone but got as far as we did, she even spoke to her manager across the store (stood in a huddle laughing with 5 other members of staff). He sent her back to say they would not help us, he didn't even come over to apologise. I didn't get upset with her as none of this was her fault and she did seem concerned we had all our food going off in the house whilst this was unfolding. So we left receipt in hand and walked round the corner to Comet. I handed a sales person my receipt from Currys and said "do you have this and when can it be delivered?" The answer was "yes and tomorrow", so I bought it again from Comet, at exactly the same price! I then returned to Currys within 10 minutes of leaving and got a full refund, the manager had made it over to the customer services till for a laugh and a joke with 4 different employees by then and seemed non plussed about this. Currys lost a £500 sale because they could not deliver good customer services, they had our order for over a week and did nothing about replacing the damaged product before our delivery day. I must be one of many,who have had a problem, how can they afford to do this in such tough times? This is a time when you should be upping your game to survive!
I will not be using them again they have done this to me for the last time.

I'd have sent my food round to friends and family to sit in their freezers, I know this from past experience.
