Advantages: Wide selection of products

Disadvantages: Prices are expensive, poor service

Curry's is a major retailer of a range of electronic products from camera's, PC's and audio/visual equipment to washing machines, dishwashers and fridge freezers & loads more in between. It has many stores across the UK as well as an online presense. It is part of the DSG group, which also own PC World & Dixons.

I'm a big fan of my electrical gadgets so like to have a walk round my local Curry's store every so often to see what the latest products out there are. However I would rarely make a purchase at any of their stores.

There are a few reasons for this, the main one being price. Nearly all products I've seen in store have been cheaper elsewhere especially online where the same product can in many cases be bought for alot cheaper. I suppose the only reason for buying it from Curry's would be if you needed it asap & the convenience that buying from store offers as a result.

Another thing I've noticed is the staff don't seem to be knowledgable at all on the products on offer, they seem more interesting in trying to sell you the extra cover when buying a product as they probably get more commission for this.

Curry's may sell a wide variety of products but their prices & customer service are far from great.

Summary: Check for same products online

Im ex DSG customer service.Believe me they get just as annoyed at not being able to help. The supervisors just want fast stat records, thats why you cant get the help you need. You have more chance instore and general managers have a lot of room for discretion.
