Advantages: Lots of choice
Disadvantages: Some is expensive
Debenhams is a name that most people are familiar with in the UK and probably some people abroad are also. If for some reason you aren't, then you should know it! I say this because it sells a great selection of things and there are lots of them around, though these are normally in major cities. The ones I am most familiar with are Lincoln, Nottingham and London branches but they are all pretty much laid out the same and sell the same things.
So what do they actually sell?
Well, I suppose they are probably known for the wide selection of clothes available, their own brands and also brands such as warehouse, Miss Selfridge, and more upmarket ones such as Jasper Conran. These are usually set out all on one floor and offer a great shoe selection and also prom and bridal wear for those needing something more special. If you want to shop but need assistance in what you think you should wear etc, there is also a personal shopper available for hire I believe, though I have never used this facility myself. Men's clothes are also available, though there are not as many. They have a good suit facility though.
Clothes aside, they also are well known for selling beauty products, these being well known names such as Clinique, L'ancolm, Mac, and Benefit - basically the upmarket expensive ones. They all have individual sales desks and are very helpful. Perfumes are also around this area, with most perfumes you know the name of on sale and various different prices. Again, there is lots of help should you need a new fragrance etc.
Home ware is also on sale at Debenhams, everything from toasters to towels, allsorts and a lot of it is very nice also, shame I can't afford it all on my student loan .
So next time you're in a big city and come across one of these, go in and have a look, you may be surprised at how many nice things their are!
Summary: Nice items
