Debenhams is a great department store where you can get almost anything. It's the first place I stop at on the Christmas shop. You can usually find a Debenhams in any main town and if your not sure where your local store is, you can find it using the store locator on the Debenhams website: www.debenhams.com.

The store has many departments in including beauty, mens/womens/kids clothing, lingere, home, electrical and my local store also has a wedding department where you can make your wedding list. Each department has a number of stands comprising of desinger and high street names.

Beauty
If you are looking for makeup, perfume, skin care or even to get your nails done then you can find it in this department. There are designer names such as Chanel, Dior, Estee Lauder, Clinque, Lancome, Elizabeth Arden and many more. All of these are separate stalls with many perfumes, makeup and lotions to choose and test and a member of staff is always willing to help. I find this section excellent for presents for those special occasions and the staff will usually gift wrap for you.

There are 3 clothing sections which include womens, mens and kids.

Womens Clothing
From formal wear to casual with a bag, shoe and swimsuit departments you can usually find what you want all in one store. The designer sections include Jasper Conran and John Rocha and high street stores such as Oasis, Jane Norman, Warehouse and Coast are all in this department. It even has it's own petit and maternity section. There is also a Debut section which is great for formal dresses.

Mens Clothing
The mens department is made up of Ben Sherman, Bilabong, Levi, Calvin Klein, Thomas Nash and many, many more. I can usually find a good deal on somewhere in this section (buy one get one free) as there is always a bargain to be had. The men also have a separate section for shoes, bags and also formal suit hire.

Kids
The children section ranges from newborns up to 16 years for boys and girls where you can buy school uniform, casual, formal nightwear, accessories and toys.

Lingerie
If you are looking for classic, funky or sexy underwear, then this section has it all. From matching bras and knickers, to nightwear there is a bit of for everyone. Getting bras can be difficult but with so many different type of brands to suit all sizes of breast it should be easy to shop for bras here. When I bought my first bra I got fitted here but not sure if they still do this.

Electricals
The electrical department in the store usually has all small appliances such as kettles, toasters, vacuum cleaners, laptops, lighting/accessories etc but bigger electrical items such as washing machines, cookers and tvs, are all available to order on the internet (however I have seen them in some larger Debenhams stores).

Home
From the home department you can get furniture for your dinning room, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and luggage. I've always found stylish items in this section with so many different styles and colours to choose from there's always something I want to buy.

Cafe/Restaurant
As there is so much to look at in Debenhams there is a cafe where you can get hot and cold drinks, light snacks, sandwiches and hot food. It's good value for money and is a great place to go to think before you buy or refresh after a long shop.

Also available from this store are gift cards (where you can choose your own design), a personal shopper and a Debenhams card. Debenhams usually has a blue cross sale which runs for about 3 days where the majority of things goes on sale (so unlike an ordinary sale you can buy things which are still in season/fashion). If you are unable to buy what you want from the store then you can always order it online.

Overall, I think that there are so many advantages shopping at Debenhams, it's so easy and you can get everything all under one roof. It has loads of great brands and is great for gifts for those special occasions. It's so great I used them for our wedding gift list and I had no problems with what I ordered (and with such a big list, I was impressed) all the breakables we're wrapped very well so I'm going to give them 5 stars.
