Debenhams has a bad reputation. Until recently I've passed it by when i've been shopping and not given it a second glance.
Basically my opinion of it comes from the deep-rooted, and oh so painful, memories of being dragged around it as a moaning child, and then as a moaning teenager. In the past I've always considered the clothes to be grannyish and the shop decor, seriously naff!

But now the chain has undergone an amazing transformation with the stores being updated with new departments and ranges and special offers for card holders.
As far as i'm concerned, this is now the best High Street shop around especially when it comes to affordable designer items. Pearce Fionda, Maria Gratchavogel, Jasper Conran, Lulu Guinness, John Rocha, Edina Ronay and Kelly Hoppen all have ranges. These designers create, not only fabulous fashion, but also stylish home ranges, including bed linen, crockery, candles, cushions and throws.
The Lulu Guinness handbag range is to die for. Buying one of her mini-creations would set you back at least £100 in Notting Hill, yet you can get your hands on a lovely wee, fully lined handbag for only £15. Wow!

For my 21st birthday, I searched the entire city(Edinburgh)for an outfit which was both timeless and affordable, niente!.
I eventually remembered the Debenhams ranges and found myself with three different outfits to choose from. I chose a John Rocha top and skirt - £60 for the outfit. Both were amazingly cut and i looked and felt sexy and confident in what i was wearing.

I unfortunately missed out on one of their regular blue-cross days - by 1 day - which would have saved me 20% off the total price of both of the selected items. Watch out for these evenings, it's well worth getting a card just to take advantage of the savings. Their sales are also good as they have great reductions from the start and leave out all sale stock until it's sold, so you can still buy reduced i
tems weeks after the sales are finished.
