Childrens hiking boots start off at £5 they're robust, waterproof, comfortable and most importantly well made. There are multibuy offers throughout the store to tempt you as well as one week only ... more

Hugely popular in its native France the Decathlon group launched its first UK sports megastore in 1999 but its not until recently when they opened a store in Manchester that I discovered I could buy Decathlon goods in the UK and not just when on holiday in France. To date they have six stores within the UK ranging from Glasgow to Thurrock. They're all in out of town locations which is unsurprising as the warehouses they use are ginormous. As I've used the words sports and warehouse in the same sentence you're probably cringing and thinking of the dire crammed in cut price shoddy tat that is Sports Direct but you couldn't be further from the truth. ...  Read the complete review

Having recently spent a lot of time and money in this shop I thought it was time that I shared my experience with you. The shop The shop I will be reviewing is the one nearest to me in Nottingham situated on the Giltbrook trading estate. There are other stores across the country, check out www.decathlon.co.uk for store locations and opening times. The shop in Nottingham is large with plenty of parking, although it is situated next to an Ikea and Next store so during sales parking can be a bit tricky. The aisles are clearly marked as to what you can find. Almost every type of sport is catered for in the store from horse riding ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Decathlon: A good sports shop for everyone, if not everything (264 words)

There is a Decathlon shop in my city. Compared with other sports shops Decathlon has a better range of sports equipment. Its selection of camping and hiking products are so far the most completed I can find. It is surely a place for someone who does not want to look for a specialized store to browse some decent sports gears. I usually pop into Decathlon after a shopping trip in city centre to search some discount clothes or shoes, or just to take pleasure in looking through gadgets on their shelves. Clothes such as T-shirts, tracksuits, shorts, tops, or jackets are good value there, and sometimes you can be lucky to find end-of-line items which cost only few ...  Read the complete review

I want to say that i have only had positive experiences from shopping at decathlon. I can't common on the quality of their bikes as i haven't bought one but a friend who has hasn't had any problems so far. I can comment on their camping and sports equipment, its fantastic. I have a 2/3 man tent which i bought two years ago and it is a brilliant lightweight tent and was a bargain. I have also bought other camping stuff like rucksacks, rollmats, camping chairs, sleeping bags etc and i have always been happy with both the quality and the price. The majority of the stuff is decathlons own brand and generall the quality is very good. It is great for people who are ...  Read the complete review

Express Review on Decathlon

Want to echo last comment. I've read stuff online about decathlon's components being better quality than you'd get on a brand bike...so I tried it, but my basic decathlon bike has given me constant grief. Last straw was the whole derailleur snapping off on the move and falling into my back wheel - just a few months after purchase. Back in decathlon they said this was a really common London problem, usually arising when parked in the street and someone leans their bike on top of yours and bends the part - hence not their problem, not under warranty. His repair suggestion was their cheapest replacement - in his own words "still better than the original one". I'm left wondering whether rubbish bendy components are a common London problem - for Decathlon bikes. Its a piece of junk, I'm buying something more rugged pronto.
