Disadvantages: Website tells fibs, customer service are useless
I ordered a laptop for £379, desribed as 'Arctic Silver' on the website, only when it was delivered it was white. So I called Dixons to tell them I wanted to return it, 'OK, no problem' they said, did you want another laptop. 'Yes' I say, and order another one, different make, which was £369 on the website.
So I get an e-mail from customer services saying thanks for your order, and that my original laptop has been received, so the replacement is being shipped and the difference would be refunded, only the difference was £2 and not £10?!?!. I called customer service, and the guy I spoke with couldn't give a rat's ar$e, and told me there was no way they could tell me what the price was when I first said I wanted it as a replacement.
I then found another number for DSG customer service, and the person I spoke to wasn't that much more help. He basically said 'It's not up to us to prove what our website said, it's up to you', and 'If you don't want it we're not going to force you' when I said I was thinking about cancelling the order. I cancelled, then received an e-mail telling me I would be refunded the £379 I originally paid.
So far I haven't received the £379, but I have got the £2 refund, whoop de doo. When I saw that I checked the shipping info for the 2nd laptop (which I cancelled) and guess what? It's out for delivery.
Absolutely useless, and probably the worst attitude towards badly treated customers I think I've ever experienced. No joke. I am never going to buy anything from Dixons, or whoever else is part of DSG. Ever.
Summary: Total waste of time
