Well what more can i say..i`ve been awaiting this day for a long time!! I watched a film recently..it was called scary movie, and for some reason this just seems so compatible with dixons its unreal...now let me think? what type of movie is it? Oh thats right its called a spoof isn`t it? Let me explain...a few yrs back now i bought a video from dixons, with the hope of spending a nice saturday night in, in front of the box!! Upon arrival of my "new" vid..i was confronted by a taxi driver who had been employed to deliver said video, for speed and ease of delivery?? so what do all those big dixons lorries do then? Anyway after carefully unpacking my new video, and a certain ammount of instruction reading, i thought i`d start at the beggining and plug it in!! success so far!! then i thought i`d turn it on...ah ha, first problem, absoluetly no life in my "new" vid...ermm what now?? i know i`ll phone dixons customer services. Second prob...no reply..mmmm, getting drastic now!! Well after 2 days of trying i finally get through to dixons, not bad hey? i am told they have none of my model (vid) in stock....so what was it i just bought then? surely not the show model?? ahh but it was!! Then i`m told as curry`s are part of the same group and all that i could exchange it there...surprise they had one, til i got there!! then it apparently vanished from the store room? And any way the assistant manageress (lovely lady!!) told me although we`re all part of the same group we cannot (and will not) exchange goods or refund money. But (you`ve been waiting for this) i can tell!! you can have our in store technician look at it..for a price!! After explaining that the gooda hadn`t even been used she still would not even try to resolve the problem!! So i trek back across town (video under arm) back to dixons, i ask for the manager?? after a pause, a seemingly teenage person approaches me to explain how sorry he is at the service i have recieved. (bless him) After much
wrangling and shouting on my part, i get offered the next model up in the range (it was only going to cost me another 25 pound) for god sake!! Its a deal!! well in the end i had to be a little dishonest with the staff and tell him that i had paid almost 15 pounds in cab fairs...(naughty me) and he was so sympathetic he said i could have the new vid for an extra 10 pounds, it was then that the illusive manager appeared...ah ha!! he only came down to see what the problem was!! after explaining my plight to him (at least 3 times) he agreed that i had been treated very poorly, and deserved the new model vid at the same price...which i duely recieved (via taxi) and guess what? It was the same as the origional that didnt work..well i have to admit that i was defeated by them basically because i just couldn`t be bothered to argue anymore. But one thing i did promise was never to shop there again, which to this day remains true. I suppose the moral is never shop where a quick turnover is put above peoples rights!! In closing can i just say.....dixons, luv yer..rrrrr XX (NOT)
