I have to say I am not a great fan of Dixons, on the other hand I do not totally hate them, because sometimes they do come in handy for those little electronics that they may have a few quid cheaper than anywhere else. Although, if you intend to go in for a browse round, take a walkman or other device that prevents hearing as this really ... Read the complete review

To me, Dixons serve a purpose. They are a convenient store to visit as there are lots of them, and even the smaller ones stock a range of products, not a wide range, but a bit of everything. They are OK as long as you know what you want. I have recently been shopping for a computer and have found the staff there to be, shall we say less ... Read the complete review

Having looked through some great opinions on the different DvD's available to buy I decided to search the net and buy one that tickled my fancy at a good price and one that recieved great reviews on dooyoo. So I followed the dooyoo link to dixons (amoung others, all equally as bad), I entered their main website and decided to look for ... Read the complete review

Now part of a group which includes Currys and the computer store PC World. Get your electrical wants from here at a reasonable price. My son bought a phone from here at the weekend and when he got it home the charger wasnt working. When he took it back not only did they change this but full marks to Dixon on the ... Most people have only one telephone line, so if you are like me and spend a bit of time on the net, you are bound to miss calls. Well, you can either buy a caller display phone, have your mobile switched on by the side of you and receive SMS messages or......... buy a gadget that flashes and beeps, alerting you when someone is ... Last week whilst browsing, we saw an amazing stereo with DVD at the Slough branch of Dixons..... We actually purchased a new Video Recorder there, (my review of this will be on later this week) but were asking about this Technic's Stereo. We didn't really understand a word the assistant was saying due to the smacking of ... Read the complete review

I could very easily sum this opinion up in 4 words "Don`t shop at Dixons". However DooYoo.com wants at least 75 words, so lets give some good reasons why you shouldn`t even set foot in Dixons. First of all the staff - I have NEVER seen a member of staff at Dixons who knows what they are talking about. If yuo know anything ... Read the complete review

I like dixons, because their prices are obviously still too high especially when it comes to pcs, yes they have dropped, but not far enough. My guess is its because their sales staff are on commission or bonuses, now where do i get that from you may ask. I have bought several items from dixons including my pc and i have found if you pay ... Read the complete review

What I dislike about Dixons, and its sister shops like The Link, is the way they try and sell things to you. It's high pressure, I suppose because they're on commission. When I went into The Link, the salesman didn't try to find out what I wanted from a phone and why I was using it. He was just interested in pushing the fact that their ... Read the complete review

I went into Dixons store in my local town to buy a portable tv and i was disapointed by the staff. I saw one that said on it it was a managers special and was £10 cheaper than normal. I asked the assistant what a managers special was. He told me they were clearing there stock and it was perfect. He said he head more in the back in ... Read the complete review

The more I talk to people about Dixons the more I don't like them. The staff must have all been trained by Delboy. Having bought a phone from my local Dixons I was offered a box which when connected to BT would chanel my calls through Cable and Wireless. I asked them that if when i got home I did not want to use the box did I have to do ... Read the complete review

Dixons can only be described as the unacceptable face of British retail. They are systematically dishonest. To elaborate. I have purchased only rarely from Dixons and on each of those occasions, there have been problems, some of which are major. Their sales staff are paid commission, hence their high sales pressure in the stores. In ... Read the complete review

I have never trusted Dixons. About 3 years ago they sold a friend of mine a computer which had someone else's files on it! It had been returned faulty, repaired and re-sold as new. That experience has not been forgotten but recently I have had my preconceptions confirmed. The sales staff on the whole are useless and know little ... Read the complete review

I have only bought a few things from Dixons I must admit, but on those couple of occasions I have needed some advice and it seems that the staff never know the answers. OK, they know a bit, but when you want to know something more comprehensive 'the technical person' is always at lunch. I bought a scanner there last year and I have a ... Read the complete review

If you're not familiar with Dixons, then you probably don't shop around much for consumer electronic equipment, or maybe you have another good reason. =) I actually quite like Dixons, and always have as they're a premiere source for when I want to get some fancy new gadget or whatever, and they are one of the most popular in their ... the only reason people shop at dixons is ease , some people are tricked by the store displays saying that they are the best but for the last 6 years i haven't used dixons simply because local independant retailers give better service ,they are more knowledgeable ( no saturday morning students who are only there for drinks money ) they are ... I don't know why but when you think of electrical shops or retailers for appliances or software, Dixons doesn't always spring to mind. This could be due to the fact that you get poor service and can nine times out of ten find the product cheaper elsewhere. I always shop for home appliances at either Comet or Curry's. Mainly because ... Read the complete review

Recently I was part of a group who designed a logo and won. Our prize consisted of a trip down to London to the Dome(which I might add, was the biggest load of s..t)and also a voucher for £250.00 to spend at Dixons. Okay although Dixons are bad and do not know really what they are talking about when it comes to electronics we also have to remember the dreaded PC World. PC World are a shop that is there to sell like many others however they seem to think that it is clever to sell things to people even when it is the wrong item. I friend of mine no so computer ... Is there any poorer electrical chain in existence in the Western world? I doubt it! I cannot find a single good word to say about Dixons. They are the most overpriced electronic retailer you could ever stumble into. They mark up their PC's (usually entry models from about 9 months ago!) by about 200% and any other computer peripheral is about ... Read the complete review
