Here comes spring and I am back again to Focus DIY store. Why? because as usual it falls to me to get the house redecorated and this time it's the bathroom. I find the paint, not too hard a task as this time it is to be magnolia, as I was totally sick of sea green, which was what the bathroom was previously painted. Having moved into our first house a year ago we were struck with the inclination to do something to it. A house that looked good on the surface gradually transformed into some sort of monster that needed a lot of work to make it to our tastes. Coupled with the fact that the previous owner could have been a contestant on DIY SOS we decided that our home form home would be the local DIY shop. Living where we do we have quite good access to all the major chains. IKEA is 25 minutes away depending on traffic, Homebase is just up the motorway and B&Q is in the town. Nearest to us however is Focus and that is where we have chosen to spend the bulk of our ‘do the house up’ ...

I have nothing but praise for Focus. After experiencing less than satisfactory service in other chains of stores, I have to say that in my opinion Focus are doing something right. The product range is excellent and the prices reasonable and they have avoided the mistake I believe Homebase are making, by sticking to basics. To top this, they have excellent customer service. I was paying at the checkout and mentioned that I was buying lots as I had just moved house. The cashier stopped and said that there was a 10% discount card for homemovers for six months as long as I could prove the move.
