Advantages: A good local diy store with what you do need for mainly decorating and garden

Disadvantages: Not as wide selection as other diy and more pricey too

This the nearest of the diy stores to us and although it is the closest it is not always the best. We have been to this store a few times now and although it is well presented, tidy and well signed out through the store to find what you want it's not the best in prices and range of products. Out of the times we went here there is only one time i come out of this shop with what i thought i had were bargains. We went to get the pieces to plumb in an outside tap. We were looking around the plumbing section for all the right attachments when we did come across a kit that was complete for the job. This was only £10 so we thought that was a good buy but most probably they have these available elsewhere at better prices but oh well. In their garden section outside i brought two little bushes that were reduced to 99p each. These were originally £10 each and although they looked a little starved of water once i repotted these at home and gave them plenty of sun and water they soon started growing back again. So this is the only time that i have come out from this particular store happy with my purchases. On other occassions that i have been to this store they have not had what i have wanted and always ended up going somewhere else like B&Q.

This particular store is relatively new to this area - it's been open about a year or two. Has good parking outside specifically for that store only. They do not seem to have that many staff though and if you need help there's rarely someone nearby as i always head off hunting around the store to look for someone to help. On a couple of occassions i have asked for help they have ended up saying "sorry we don't stock that" or have shown me to the product and once i look at the price i think "wow that's a bit pricey".

They don't seem to have that many offers on though compared to other larger diy places and although it is closer i would rather pay the extra bit in diesel to travel to B&Q or Homebase and get what i want for less.

They do stock lighting, paint, garden equipment, wallpaper, tools, plumbing, plants and other bits but in my opinion they are all slightly higher in price.

Summary: A good local diy shop if you need something quick but be prepared to pay more if they have it
