Advantages: comfy airware, nice looking sensible shoes that your mother would approve of.
Disadvantages: Kinda expensive.
I have been a faithfull Doctor Martins boot and shoe wearer for many years now. I bought my first pair of shoes in 1988 (and still wear them!) and my first pair of boot in 1994. I was bought my current pair by my employers (aren't they loverly people?!) which are ankle boots with a padded collar and steel toe cap. My Nieces call them my Hermans (a la Herman Munster) and I love them! They are so comfortable and don't look at all like your regular safety boots. I have only one gripe about DM's and that is the swing in the sizes. My shoes are a size 4 and fit me perfectly, my 9 hole boots are a 4 and are too tight, my work boots are a 5 and fit me just fine! I am, as you may have gathered, a size 4. My Sister in Law has had the same problem with DM shoes and boots of the same size fitting differently. They are too expensive nowerdays too (I say that because I remember when you could buy a pair of 9 hole boots for £30 instead of nearly £70 that they are now) but I think that if you are on your feet all day, they are worth the investment. The last forever unlike alot of the other as and more expensive "lable" boots such as Cat'.

- 30/09/04 Women look great in Doc Martens whether they have large or small feet. Once broken in, they are very comfortable, durable, waterproof and very tough and long lasting. They are so much better than most other footwear and can be worn with anything and on most occasions. You can actually WALK in them too and they're excellent for self defence.
