Advantages: Good boots

Disadvantages: Lack of non-leather range

I am a vegan which means, as with vegetarians, I don't wear leather. Considering the ever growing number of vegetarians it is quite surprising how hard it is to buy decent (or even indecent) boots. Through Vegetarian Shoes in Brighton ( http://www.vegetarian-shoes.co.uk ) you can buy a small range of DMs though, the only problem being the number of styles available.

I have only recently bought my first pair of Boots because I don't like shoes. I find them to be increadiably uncomfortable so only used to wear trainers. When these needed replacing I looked at an old Vegetarin Shoes catalogue and the airwair-ness of the DMs jumped out at me, if they are nicely cushioned then they wouldn't be uncomfortable. And I was right, they feel great and unless I become a thinner, fitter, healthier person overnight I have no reason to ever buy trainers again now. The boots I bought were DM Hikers, only 6 eyes but with good grips on the sole suitable for... any guesses? Now I don't want to wear down the sole and would like some bigger boots but I have a slight problem, it seems the range of boots has been reduced since my several year old catalogue and so now you can only buy 8 eyes boots (in black, cherry, and purple), the Hikers, and a few shoes. No ten eyes or above. Vegetarian shoes do have their own brand of larger boots, some of which do have air cushioned soles so I may have to buy one of those. More than likely I will find a way to justify to myself buying those and a pair of the 8 eye DMs.

Comfortable and good looking, I would definitely recommend DMs. I just wish there was a larger range of non-leather boots.

They use different lasts for the 'girls' and 'boys' models y'know. Anyone with high arches (like me) can't get into the
'female' versions. Not so bad for people who wear leather stuff, but the alternatives can't be stretched. So No DMs for us! :0(

My boyfriend is a vegan and he adores the shop (luckily we live in Brighton so can stroll there whenever we want). I've been very impressed by their quality and their own designs are generally very good too.
