Advantages: Friendly atmosphere and well laid out, Absolute Bargains, especially in the sales, Good Variety of products
Disadvantages: Often most shoes have very high heels which may limit choice
"Mother, do you really need that many pairs of shoes?" I used to say. "They're all different though, and you'll understand when you're older!" My wise mother would reply. Of course I used to think: "Yeah right, who needs that many pairs of shoes?" But now I can understand it. Once you?ve bought one pair of perfect shoes, you see another that are just as perfect and this carries on until soon you?re shoe mad! A shoe-a-holic by nature means that I now look for a pair of shoes whenever I go shopping! As much as I love the Gucci and Manola Blahniks of the shoe world my budget, being a student, doesn't exactly stretch that far...but...I've found Dolcis. The main Dolcis store that I visit is the one in Chester, but occasionally I will visit the Bay store in Llandudno as Bay Trading stocks Dolcis shoes. So what are they like then? Well, Dolcis used to be considered a very upper-market store that was extremely expensive but now suits everyone's tastes. THE SHOES ***Strappy and Classy*** Dolcis stocks a variety of stilettos, strappy sandals with kitten heals, summer sandals and classy shoes to go with THAT dress. Usually priced at around £29.99 or from less unique designs £19.99 they are an absolute bargain. Very comfortable and perfectly fitting for even the most narrow of feet. I have one pair that has an exceptionally high feel and I find the straps do dig in slightly but that is to do with the heel not the fitting of the shoe. ***School and Work*** Dolcis stock wonderful shoes suitable for school and work. They have great designs that are sophisticated for the more mature student that wants to edge away from Kickers or for people that are working or preparing for that important job interview. They do have quite high heels though so you may have to have a good look around in the store for a flatter vers
io n. ***Casual and Sport*** The trainers and boots stocked by Dolcis are usually another brand but Dolcis do stock some of their own trainers. In some stores they also stock Sketchers, although they seemed to have stopped in the Chester store. These are not as great designs as your usual Adidas and Nike but suitable for casual wear. ***Boots and Knee Lengths*** Dolcis also stock a variety of ankle boots and knee length boots. These can range from the newly fashionably pointed toe to a more curved two. You are guaranteed to be able to find either flats, stiletto heels or your classic heel. I haven't actually purchased any boots from Dolcis but they seem to be good quality. ***Size 9 +*** For those people with larger feet that feel they are doomed to wear the most placid of shoes do not despair!!! Dolcis stocks a range of shoes designed for people with larger sized feet which can usually be found clearly marked. These are the exact same designs as those mentioned above but made especially for you! Anything else? Dolcis also stocks handbags, clutch bags and accessories such as costume jewellery. I have purchased a black small handbag from here and I LOVE IT! They stock a wide variety of shapes and sizes and if not genuine leather they certainly appear so. The staff at the Dolcis store are usually very friendly and helpful and willing to order the shoes you require if you cannot find them in store or if they do not have your size. I hope this has helped you decide that Dolcis is the shop for you, and now some light entertainment: *The oldest existing footwear in the world is a sandal found in a cave in Missouri USA, which was made 8,000 years ago. *To protect the house and inhabitants from evil and misfortune, in some places shoes are found concealed in many parts of a building. * A shoemaker is called a Cordwainer Thank you for reading
> O h and a final note: Dolcis have the most amazing s ales, especially in the Bay Trading stores. I managed to get 3 pairs of £29.99 shoes for £2.50 each!!!!! Nothing wrong with them at all- they are gorgeous and complimented by many of my friends!

I like the fact that Dolcis' shoes are fairly reasonably priced, and there are some lovely ones in at the moment!
