Advantages: the quality of clothing

Disadvantages: some ranges can be pricey

Dorothy Perkins is one of the most established and prominent fashion retailers in the UK and with over 920 branches have a major presence on the high street. Famous for it's high quality clothing and low prices it's no wonder so many people chose to shop there-me being one of them.

I took my first steps into my local DP when i was around 15, i was out shopping with my big sister and she then adored the shop, this was clear as being her younger sister i used to 'borrow' her clothes quite often, as we where about the same size. Looking around the store everything seemed so out of my range- both fashion and money wise, as being 15 at the time i wasn't exactly rolling in it, my sister had taken me shopping as i was in desperate need of some basics like tops, and jeans.

She chose a couple of pair of jeans which where basic and not to pricey, and i picked up 3-4 tops to chose from, now im a pear shaped women when it comes to clothing, and until then i couldn't find clothing that fitted me properly, i headed off to the changing rooms and tried the first set on, and was amazed at how the tops sat nicely over my hips, and the jeans didn't give a builder's bum look, like a lot of the pairs i owned, chuffed with my result i brought one pair of jeans and 3 tops and it totaled to about £40.00 which wasn't to dear.

Since then i regularly shop at DP, for tops, jeans, skirts and dresses because they fit me so well, in my drawer at home ive got many tops from DP which i brought 5-6 years ago, and they last and last and last. They wash brilliantly and never lose there shape or color if washed right.

When i first became pregnant i was constantly worried that i wouldn't be able to find any clothing that looked nice, one christmas my partner and his mum was shopping, it was a couple of days after christmas and the sales where on, and i despratly needed some maternity jeans as that dreaded moment came when i couldn't fit in to my normal ones, we looked high and low and i must have tried on a million pairs, giving up hope we thought we'd call it a day.

Walking back to the car, we walked past DP and i said i wanted to nip in and get a few tops, but in the next size up in hope they'd cover my rather large bump!! Browsing the tops, my partners mum rushed over and asked if i had looked at their maternity range? I didn't even know DP did a maternity range, so excited i followed her over, and before my eyes where rail upon rail's of jeans, tops, dresses, all designed for pregnant women. I chose a couple of pairs of jeans to try on, and three tops, and there fit like a glove, so i chose my favorite pair of jeans and the three tops, and rushed over to the tills, being in the sale in total it came to £24.00 which my partners mum kindly insisted on paying for.

I practically skipped back to the car, so happy i'd found some clothes that fit me properly and didn't make me look like a pregnant beach whale!

That was with my first pregnancy, im now on my third and am sat proudly now in them jeans as i write this review. They are so comfy and having been washed hundreds of times, they still look new, and as for my tops, i can't fault them, i really love DP as the quality of clothing is amazing, some people may not agree, i don't shop there all the time just every now and again and up until now it has never failed me.

When I want quality and I have the extra cash available I do like to shop at Dotty P's, I have just bought a party dress for £25 with some almost matching shoes (purple) for £15 and have about 4 different things to wear it to over Christmas so it was a good spend! Rebecca Xx

I love this shop, although I am finding it more difficult now, especially towards Christmas to actually pick up a nice party frock.
Still love the clothes
