Advantages: Great value, some absolute bargains, student discount

Disadvantages: Quality not overly high

Tonight on my way home from work I decided to pop into Dorothy Perkins to try and pick up a pair of jeans on the cheap for the weekend, im at a stage in my diet where nothing fits properly, either hanging off far too loose or not quite comfortable too tight, so I wanted a pair for the weekend when im off to London with my mom and need something warm and comfy to wear.

I knew they would be my best bet to find a pair for a really good price, I also personally find that their sizes fit me better than anywhere else (Next jeans NEVER fit me at all), I had the added incentive that until the 8th there is 15% off for students and I have an NUS card.

I budgeted for £30 for a pair of jeans but actually for £25.50 I ended up with a pair of perfect fitting bootcut jeans and a gorgeous pair of red patent round toed platform shoes!! Each was priced at £15 but with my discount came in at £12.75 - I was over the moon.

Granted, the jeans are of quite a thin denim and they probably wont last years and years - but they will more than adequately do the job as a stop gap pair for the moment. The shoes are great, they were actually reduced from £30 and are lovely, I think it must be part of their January sale still but my local Outfit store (within which is a large DP section) had a massive pile of boxes of shoes piled up that were in the sale, there were literally hundreds of boxes. All were priced at between £10 and £20, there were also tons of boots reduced from £70 to around £35 - I could have easily gone on a footwear buying frenzy.

I only started using Dorothy Perkins a couple of years ago when I realised how reasonably priced their workwear range was, when I needed a new suit at short notice I managed to pick up a very smart black trouser suit for around £45 and it was even machine washable. I now use them regularly and especially for work clothes - whenever I need something they are my first port of call.

The usual student discount that they offer is 10% so even without the current promotion they are a good place for students. Their sales tend to be great too - I sometimes use the website and if you go through topcashback you can get 5% back on top, the items I have bought online have always arrived quickly and been exactly what I was after.

A great value store offering a good range of clothes, especially good for students.

Summary: Great value clothes shop and does fantastic range of shoes too
