Dorothy Perkins (also known as Dotty P's!) was founded in 1909 under the name of H.P.Newman and then later in 1919 changed its name to Dorothy Perkins. Dorothy Perkins was previously owned by the Farndon family many years ago, but is now part of the Arcadia group. There are over 600 branches throughout the UK, often found along with Burton's. The shop is found almost everywhere, small towns, big cities and various shopping centres, they don't want to miss out!
They sell everything a woman could dream of: dresses, tops, trousers, jeans, knitwear, coats, accessories, jewellery, and shoes. They offer shoes in sizes 3-9 and clothing sizes 6-22 with options of leg length on most of their bottoms. The shop is for everyone's tastes, not just young, or not just old. You find everyone in there! They keep in with the fashion trends but also have various other styles of clothing available. With the choice of tall, petite and maternity ranges, and short regular and long leg trousers, they cater for anyone wanting to shop there.
The shoes and boots are usually found towards the back of the shop along with denim and other accessories. While the lastest trends and catwalk type styles more towards the front to catch your eye and entice you in!! The jewellery stands are mainly found towards the counter to have a browse in most Dorothy Perkins I have been in. Not meaning to say that it will be the same in every store, they will obviously have different layout systems.
Dorothy Perkins also stock different 'Designer' brands of clothing, mainly dresses (don't worry, they aren't extortionate prices)! They aren't always sold in store though but can be found online at www.dorothyperkins.com. Shoes can be quite expensive to buy from here usually starting around the £40 mark, but they do sell some really nice things. Clothes can be decent prices like £10-£20 for a top and £20-£30 for jeans, but I think £29 for a small cardigan is a bit expensive. It depends what you're after. But it is definately worth a look. I love this shop!!
With the Dorothy Perkins store card, you get 10% off your first purchase and thereafter can get other reward schemes and a few VIP days which are 20% off. You don't need the card to buy in store though, I don't have one. If you have a student card or work for the NHS, you can get 10% off every purchase, but you need the proof with you when buying in store. If buying online, for the NHS you have to enter your email.. I'm not sure about using the student card online though!
Returns are quick and easy, you just have to fill in a few details and all done. If you order online and want to return, you can return it to a nearby store or send it back free post to the address provided. Simple!
Thanks for reading. :-)
