Advantages: Pretty much every item you could want under 1 roof

Disadvantages: Can be pricey sometimes,

Downtown is a large superstore on the outskirts of Grantham, one of only 2 in the country (the other being in Boston) it provides shoppers with nearly everything they could be after in 1 complex.

======Choice of goods======

Downtown has everything shoppers could be after, from electrical goods such as TV's and Dishwashers to Vacuum cleaners. It has a large furniture section with a wide variety of beds, sofas and chairs. Upstairs there is also a large range of soft furnishings for the home and practical appliances for the kitchen. A large part of the upstairs is taken up showing what clothes are for sale, either in the sports section or the ladieswear department.

Adjoined to the Downtown in Grantham is a Boundary Mills store which has a very large selection of clothing for different occasions, the suit department is especially impressive and affordable.

If you weren't tired from walking around the huge shop then you will be delighted to hear that they also have a large garden centre about 200 yards away offering all sorts of plants and gardening equipment possible. The garden centre also offers a large aquariam centre where you can buy fish/fish food and ask for advice if you are having some problems with your own fish.


========Access=========

Getting to Downtown is fairly straightforward, it is located at the Gonerby Moor roundabout just off the A1, being so close to such a main road means you get avoid having to drive through the centre of Grantham which for such a small town has an awful amount of traffic! I have also seen coach parties visit downtown so if you are unable to drive here there are other ways to get there!

========= Prices ==========

Overall my experience from Downtown is that they can sometimes be on the pricy side for goods, especially electrical appliances. In other areas however they are very reasonable (My girlfriend got 2 designer handbags for a very good price!) so I think it just depends what you are after and with expensive electrical goods you will usually get the option of a finance package.

======== Summary ========

Downtown's motto is "You can get it all" and in this instance it is true that you can, a word of advice is to try and find the price of the good you are after before you visit from rival stores so there may be some room to try and haggle. The large cafe they have in the upstairs also offers some nice snacks and beverages and is a welcome break after walking around for a few hours.
