Advantages: Huge range of everything you could think of for your home, reasonable prices, friendly staff.

Disadvantages: Can't think of any.

I planned on popping into Dunelm today before work for the purposes of "research", and by "research" I mean having a good old mooch around and coming out with loads of items I don't really need but once I have them I realise that in fact I do really need them I just never realised it! It's a good job I didn't have time to go in today, or it'd probably have ended up like last time when I came out with a Rattan 4 drawer chest and a Mr Egg egg whisk when actually I'd only gone in for some floor wipes!

You see, Dunelm is one of those places, that has almost everything you could ever think of plus 100's more things besides, a one stop shop for all your soft furnishings and other homeware products, their motto being "Simply Value For Money" and indeed it is, if you are setting up home or even if you just want to update a certain room (or two, or three!) in your house, then this is the place to come. The range of kitchen accessories is enormous, from Dinner Sets to Egg Cups, from Cutlery to a kitsch Vintage style chicken crock like what they had in the comedy Bread (remember that?!)....I SO need one of them!

From Duvets and Bedsets to Cushion covers and bathroom accessories, a wide range of craft items, some fabulous ornaments, candles and holders, a large selection of storage solutions, furniture, lights and not forgetting the blinds and the curtains, which as well as ready made items, they also offer a 'Made To Measure' service which before you order you can choose up to 4 free samples before deciding which is best for you.

No doubt I've missed loads of items of that list, it really is amazing what you can find in there! Oh yeah, they sell cleaning products too, that's one area where perhaps you could find things cheaper elsewhere from such as Wilkinson's for example. Everything else though I find to be very competitively priced, and when they have a sale on there are some great bargains to be found.

There is always ample parking outside the stores, and some of the larger stores even have Coffee Shops too. They serve the most gorgeous coffee and muffins! No main meals are served, just a lovely relaxing place to have a quick pitstop before you continue with your shopping or indeed after you're all shopped out! In these stores with Cafe's, lifts are also provided as well as stairs.

I have always found the staff to be helpful and courteous and when I have asked for help finding an item, nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them. Even when I returned an item (I knew that candelabra wouldn't look right, but it was a bargain!) there were no quibbles, even when I said I'd lost my receipt, and me working in retail too, the shame!

The only downside for me is the impact it has had on my wallet, even more so that they have now decided to open a shop right next door to where I work, I find it impossible to go in and come out having not bought anything, but that's not their fault obviously, that's me being too easily swayed by all the goodies on offer!

One of my favourite shops when I want to give my home a quick update without breaking the bank.
