Carphone Warehouse ... Carphone Warehouse Group PLC (CPW), known as The Carphone Warehouse, say that they are the Europe s largest independent mobile phone retailer, with over 1,700 stores across Europe. They have bases in United Kingdom, Outside the UK and the Republic of Ireland, the retailer is named The Phone House. The company was co-founded in 1989. Although a big mobile phone retailer I dont believe that bigger is always better as Carphone Warehouse have proved. I have brought many mobile phones from there stores up until a year or so back when I discovered that there poor service just wasnt for me. Currys ... sold us a faulty and dangerous gas cooker.Gas came out the appliance after it switched itself off.Engineers missed several appointments due to one having a van blow up, and another was knocked unconscious.They brought out the wrong parts, as they couldn t decide which model we had. The service centre call staff were unhelpful,agressive and surly.After over a month of continual problems where they denied liabilty for the goods they themselves had sold us we were offered cheaper replacements.None were suitable as they would not fit into our new fitted kitchen, planned around the cooker from Currys.After several telephone calls and letters we eventually recieved a ful... Carphone Warehouse ... an 18 contract through CPW - the handset they supplied me with was faulty from the beginning (as admitted by their technical support - had a software fault). They said I had to bring it in for repair, which I did (to CPW in Cribbs Causeway in Bristol...they are utterly appauling). It is now 82 days since they took the phone, and still have not had it back - everytime I complain, they couldn t give a toss. They refuse a replacement handset (against the contract terms and conditions) and refuse to give a temporary handset. So I have been left paying line rental for minutes and texts I can t use.
