Empire Stores

Newest Review: ... or whether you are looking for household appliances or even furniture, its a one stop shop, without having to leave the house. The clothing has something available for everyone, petit people, standard clothing, bigger sizes, maternity wear, branded names, kids, teenagers, men, sportswear, you name it they have it within the catalogue, however with this being interest free you don't get away lightly and will have to pay a few extra pounds than what you would normally pay. I find the household items very expensive, but if you are looking to purchase something quick and haven't got the money to pay for it, then its readily available. Larger,... more

Express Review on Empire Stores

I have only ever ordered clothes from Empire. Most are sent back because the quality/appearance are not as shown in the catalogue. Some have been fine and good value. Unfortunately my experience with Empire has gone badly wrong since they were taken over. I placed an order just before this and the details of the order first appeared on the new statement. They had not applied the order discount code to half my order and now, even after several e-mails, they will not refund the money to my account "due to the changeover". One for Trading Standards, I think!

Premium Review Overpriced Catalogue (383 words)

I've been an Empire customer for quite some time. Basically Empire is a standard catalogue like Kays and Littlewoods where you are able to order things and have the opportunity to spread the cost over so many weeks interest free, which is fantastic however you always tend to see that the products that they stock are a little overpriced than you would actually pay in a hugh street store. Empire catalogue caters for everyone, whether you are looking for clothes or whether you are looking for household appliances or even furniture, its a one stop shop, without having to leave the house. The clothing has something available for everyone, petit people, ...  Read the complete review

Empire Stores - Terrible Delivery service, bad customer serv ... (222 words)

Absolutely terrible. Ordered a dress on 27th Sept. It was delivered on 15th October. So much for speedy delivery! This was even longer than the 14 days given as the maximum in the FAQ. The dress didn't fit, so I called the local courier as it advises to do on the package and on the return slip. My local courier was only on a temp contract and had left his job. Advised to call Parcelnet. Called Parcelnet on 22nd October who arranged to pick up the dress on the 26th. Couldn't give me a time. I put up with this. But they didn't turn up. Phoned Empire Stores who blamed Parcelnet. Arranged another collection for 29th October. Again, they ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review You Couldn't Run An Empire Any Day Of The Week (672 words)

I've been an empire customer for about 3 years now. I must have spent well over £2,000 with them. Being a student its not easy to come up with the money all in one go. Empire Stores send me a catalogue every few months showing off their range of clothing and homeware. It has nearly everything but the kitchen sink. But I'm writing my review today not really to discuss the range of products on offer or their services in general. If you want to know about the products order the catalogue or visit the website :) I just want to give people a heads up on the poor customer service and share with you a few of my headache stories. I'll take you ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Empire Stores: cancellation proceedure (134 words)
by - written on 08/01/04 (Somewhat useful, 34 readings)

We ordered a present for my dad, due to be delivered on the Friday, stayed in all day waiting for it, but no delivery! Phoned the company and the couriers said they'd been but no one was in and they left a card. Not happy we canceled the order, then low and behold it turned up on Monday, unfortunately as no one was in we just got a note from the couriers saying they'd been and we needed to pick it up. Have since spoke to Empire direct about the lack of refund on their behalf and apparently they don't reimburse until they receive the item back, what kind of a policy is that for a cancelled order! It's now over a month since the original order and no ...  Read the complete review
