Disadvantages: Is closing down
Ethel Austin is (or was) a major budget high street clothes store that also sold some footwear, accessories cosmetics and baby products.
Ethel Austin has very recently gone into liquidation and is currently in the process of selling of their stock and closing down their stores.
I am quite saddened by this as I often bought nice little odds and ends from Ethel Austin.
Their clothing range consists of Men's, women's, Children's and Babies Clothing. I like the kid's clothes. I find them to be stylish and good quality but also very well priced I recently purchased a pink gingham dress for my daughter that cost me just £5. It is well made, fits beautifully and is really just lovely. Another regular purchase I have made is for vests and bibs. A pack of £5 bibs costs just £3 and a pack of seven vests just £5. They wash like a ribbon. What a bargain. I have also recently purchased some red flip-flops. They again looked great, fitted well and cost just £8. You cant ask for better than that.
My favourite part of the store and my main reason for shopping there was the low priced cosmetics. Ethel Austin often sells big brand names at discount prices. I have purchased lipsticks by max factor, maybelline and L'Oreal all from the store and none cost more than £4. I do love a bargain
I found Ethel Austin to be a really nice bargain shop and am disappointed that it is closing
