brought a 4 year old astra from them last year, the salesman was very helpful when i went in looking but gave me wrong details of the car tax bracket (told me it was cheaper than it was) the car was being brought for my mother and was to be registered in her name but although this was told to him several times the log book arrived in my name!! phoned evans halshaw to be told there was nothing they could do so we had to contact dvla and change owners again so 1 more owner on the log book. the car was supposed to have a new mot but thus had been forgoten so another trip back to the dealer for this to be done ( well a new one was given to me but not sure it was carried out) the car was supposed to be surviced before i collected it and i was told this had been done but the service book was not stamped so after another visit to the workshop i was told they had serviced the car but forgot to stamp the book. 1 week later the service light came on!! back to the workshop and was told they had forgot to reset it on the service ( look a flighing pig!!!!) a few days after the 3 month warrenty ran out the car started loosing power and missing so i took it to a garage where i knew the owner and he looked at it for me. the out come was the fuel filter was blocked and he told me there was no way the car had been serviced for a long time. when i told him where id brought the car from he said he had had quight a few dealings with people that had had the same problems as me from them!! I will never ever go anywhere near EVANS HALSHAW again and i would advise anyone thinking about buying a car from them to seriously think about looking else where!!
