I am an ex car trader and normally buy at trade price ex auctions etc, but they had exactly the car I wanted, rare car, rare spec, so I agreed to pay full retail price even though I knew the car has some minor faults and it was not presented in retail condition. I paid a deposit, but before I collected the car I checked the car for a common engine fault I believed it could have. It did, and it would cost £1000 to put right (inlet manifold broken). They will sell anything that will pass an MOT, even if it has major faults. They still have my deposit and are now trying to sell the car to another unsuspecting customer. I know the car trade and Evans Halshaw/Pendragon and not to be trusted. Sub £4000 they try to minimise their risks by selling "runabouts" with 30 days warranty only on total failure of engine, gearbox and drive train. In my opinion they give the car trade a bad name. Rant over !
Summary: dont buy a used car from Evans Halshaw
