Advantages: Plus Sizes
Disadvantages: Not very high fashion
Evans
Evans is a women's clothing store that is part of the Arcadia chain. The Arcadia chain includes shops such as Dorothy Perkins, Top Shop, Wallis, Burtons and Top man. Evans is a plus sizes store that sells sizes from 16 to 32.
Arcadia has store cards available that can be used in any store within the group and operates the same way as a credit card.
The store sells clothing, footwear, jewellery, accessories, underwear and nightwear.
I find the store to be aimed at a more mature age group rather than a younger group. I find very few of the items to be high fashion, which I find a bit disappointing as I think many young people use the store.
I have purchased very basic items from the store but find them to a bit expensive (maybe I'm just a bit miserable). I have purchased basic jeans that have cost me £35 and a jacket for work that cost £75 (plain black dress coat) Both of the items fitted well and were long lasting but I found them to be a bit pricey for basic items. Another example of this is basic t-shirts. You can pay up to £18 for what I think is a pretty basic every day item.
I like the shoes that Evans sell but unfortunately they are only available in a wide fitting. So instead of being a standard width they are E and EEE. I find that although I am a plus size my feet are not.
The jewellery and accessories are very nice and generally higher fashion. I have purchased pretty jewellery sets that's have lasted well.
I find it difficult to purchases tops from Evans as do not find them very well fitting. I find that they are all very big and baggy and can often make me look pregnant. Although I am a little heavier than I should be I do not feel the need to walk around in a sack.
Overall-
This is not my favourite shop. You can pick up some good items but overall I find the clothes to be a bit pricey and not very well fitting.
Summary: Not my favourite store
